The cost of sunflower seeds is directly related to world prices for processed products from it - sunflower oil and meal. As reported on the TASS website on July 12, the Fat and Oil Union expects that the wholesale prices for sunflower oil will remain in the next season in the amount of 95 rubles per liter.
There is a drop in world prices for all vegetable oils, including sunflower oil, said the head of the union, Mikhail Maltsev. Maltsev also noted that under the pressure of export quotations, taking into account the forecast of an "excellent harvest" of sunflower this season at the level of 16 million tons and due to the introduction of a damper duty on the export of sunflower oil, prices in the domestic market also went down.
